The Baalu Girma Foundation, a Michigan based non-profit organization, strives to promote excellence in the creative writing and journalism professions.
The Foundation is established in memory of Baalu Girma, an Ethiopian journalist and writer who was kidnapped by the military junta in 1984. Throughout his life, Baalu was a true pioneer in his field; he had a lifelong passion for journalism and writing. Major highlights of his personal life and his work are captured in Biography. But, his fascinating personal life and his selfless contributions to Ethiopian journalism and literature deserve to be published on their own.
